Roster Verification (RV); previously TSC

Roster verification (RV), previously called teacher student claiming (TSC), is scheduled to begin April 13, 2023, for all TN schools administering state assessments.

Teacher value-added data are used for several diagnostic and evaluative purposes, including teacher evaluations. The RV process plays a crucial role in ensuring that there is accurate data for calculating teacher value-added reports and evaluation composites. Shortly before the launch of fall and spring state testing, teachers use the RV process to claim students they taught during the school year. Once teachers have completed and approved their rosters, the rosters are used in calculating teacher value-added scores (TVAAS).

CMCSS RV Support Manual (Last updated on 4/28/23)

The Accountability and Assessment Team will email a preliminary spreadsheet to CMCSS principals and Testing Coordinators on 4/13/2023 containing students who participated in homebound, BASE, EBS, TCAT, AGE, Synergy, or the Alternative School. This spreadsheet will identify students to be marked as ineligible and the balance of claiming between the schools for those students who are eligible for claiming. A second spreadsheet will be sent to all testing coordinators with any students missing from the spreadsheet sent on 4/13. These spreadsheets include the virtual school, all middle and high schools, and a few elementary schools.
